Section 1:
Directions:

Head north on Vernon Cir toward Northbourne Ave. Slight left at Commonwealth Ave. Continue on Capital Cir. Turn right at Federation Mall. Turn right at Parliament Dr

Stopover:

Parliament House is free to get into which is always a bonus when your backpacking on a budget! The Design of the building is Modern and really spectacular in itself. You can grab a free guided tour for 45 minutes, when the Parliament is not in session, or amble round yourself, your can spend anything from 30 mins to a few hours wandering around this grand, beautiful building.

Section 2:
Directions:

Head northeast on Parliament Dr toward Commonwealth Ave. Turn left at Commonwealth Ave. Turn right at State Cir. Turn left at Kings Ave. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Parkes Way. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Anzac Parade. Turn left at Limestone Ave. Make a U-turn at Euree St.

Stopover:

With free admission this is a must do stop in Canberra. If your not a great history fan don’t be put off by the fact that its a museum! There heaps of interesting things to keep you occupied, from bullet wounded helmets and uniforms to telegraphs informing wives of missing husbands, tuns of photos, models and interactive stuff that will keep you busy!

Section 3:
Directions:

Head southeast on Limestone Ave toward Anzac Parade. Slight right at Anzac Parade. Turn right to stay on Anzac Parade. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Parkes Way Go through 1 roundabout. Take the ramp to Lady Denman Dr. Turn right at Lady Denman Dr. Continue on Clunies Ross St and you are there!

Stopover:

These gorgeous gardens take you on a trail that really makes you feel as if you are lost in a rainforest at times! Just to make sure you know you are in Oz there are lots of signs warning you about the dangerous snake! But that just adds to the fun… some of the plants are really stunning dn you are sure to see a lizard or two. And how much for a couple hours of fun? Nothing!

Section 4:
Directions:

Head southeast on Clunies Ross St toward Black Mountain Dr. Turn right at Black Mountain Dr and you will reach the tower, you can’t miss it.

Stopover:

Heading up the Black Mountian is a pretty cool drive in itself, why not stop off in one of the picnic areas for dinner. It costs $6 to get into to tower, make sure you catch the breathtaking sunset that will leave you stunned, along with the amazing views of the Canberra area, at 195 meters high and on a mountain you can see for mile. A beautiful end to a fullfilled and very cheap day!
