Starting at King’s Cross Station the tour takes you along Darlinghurst Road through Elizabeth Bay, Wooloomooloo and Victoria Street, finishing Nimrod Street Theatre.

Outside the station, turn left along Darlinghurst Road where there is lots to see and do. The Fitzroy Gardens are at the end of the street.

Turn left along Macleay St until you get to Orwell St (1st on left.)

Turn back to where you came from retracing steps along Orwell St, left into Macleay St, left into Hughes St where you will find The Wayside Chapel to your left.

Turn right into Tusculum St, then right again into Manning Street where you will find the Tusculum to your right.

Continue to the end of Manning St, turn right into Macleay St again, then left into Greenknowe Ave (2nd on left.) Kingsclere is the corner building that you can’t miss.

Continue along Greenknowe Ave turning left towards the end at Onslow Ave. Onslow Ave becomes Onslow Place with Elizabeth Bay House smack bang in the centre. Continue along again coming around and back down Billyard Ave to Boomerang.

Retrace your journey back down Billyard Avenue past McElhone Reserve. You will find a little stairway across the road. Go up the stairs. You will reach a ‘dog-leg’ footpath between apartments which will lead you back to Macleay Street. Turn left into Macleay St then left into Rockwall Crescent. Where you will pass Rockwall on your left.

Turn back around to where you have come from, turning left into Macleay St. You can wander all the way down to the end of Wydle St if you feel like a view of the Harbour (passing ‘The Yellow House’ to your left on the way.)

If you turn into Challis Ave (off Macleay St) you will pass Garcia Centre for Performing Arts on your left.

St Vincent’s College is at the end of Challis Ave, near the intersection with Victoria St where you turn left. Not far up to your right you will find McElhone stairs. Take these to see Sydney’s Wooloomooloo.

Turn back onto Victoria Street, turning right away fron the water.

Further along Victoria St you will find ‘The Butler Stairs’ to your right, and 202 Victoria St to your left.

Cont all the way along Victoria St to reach ‘The Cross,’ where all intersections converge.

You continue along Victoria St (crossing ‘The Cross’ on the way) into Darlinghurst. Left into Craigend st and right into Nimrod St where you will find the Nimrod theatre to your left.

Walking tour of the city centre’s shopping and business districts. Beginning at St James Station the tour weaves throughout the city streets and finishes in George Street.

Turning back around and to the top of Martin Place and George again you will see The Westpac Bank and (former) National Australia Bank opposite.

Cross George St and up Barrack St (pedestrian access only.) Turn right into York St and you will find The AWA building on your left.

Turn back around down York St passing Beard Watson Co on your left.

Turn right into George St where The Darrell Lea Shop is on the corner followed by The Strand arcade to your left. Then, The Block (Dymocks Building) and Myer.

Turn left onto Market St where Gowings is on the corner. Then The State Theatre to your right.

Turn left into Pitt St Mall if you feel like perusing the shops. Otherwise turn right into Pitt St and you will find City Tattersall’s Club on your right, and further down to the left is The Arthouse Hotel.

Take the first right to Park St (where at the intersection across the road you will see Criterion Hotel.)

Walk through the covered plaza to the left opposite The Roma Cafe passing the Capitol Theatre.

Turn right into Campbell St and then left into Elizabeth St. Continue up along Elizabeth St passing Australian Hall to your right (after Goulburn x-road) and then Mark Foys Emporium (Downing Centre) to your left (just before Liverpool x-road.)
