The easiest way to reach New Farm is to catch a Citycat Ferry from one of the wharves in the CBD, for example the North Quay wharf (closest to Queen Street Mall, next to the Victoria Bridge) or South Bank wharf on the opposite side.
A single ticket is $2.70, return is $5.40. (Zones 1-2 – if you already have a Translink ticket from the train or bus you can use this on the ferry as well.)
Catch the Citycat ferry to New Farm. This should take about 15 minutes.
As you exit the wharf, directly in front of you is New Farm Park.
Opening hours: Mon-Fri: 6.30am-11pm, Weekends: 6am-11pm
If you’re looking for somewhere for lunch, there is a cafe located under the Brisbane Powerhouse (to the far right as you exit the wharf) or along Merthyr Road, which can be reached by heading straight down Brunswick Street (to the left of the wharf) for about 10-15 minutes or so - there are several cafes, bakeries and restaurants along here.
