Starting at the Rivercat terminal, Charles St Wharf, this walking tour lets you experience some of Parramatta’s most significant colonial architecture.
From Central Station, take the Western Line train from platform 18 to Parramatta Station Platform 2. Walk to Charles St, Parramatta – 528 metres, then to Charles St Wharf, Parramatta River.
You will see the Gas Works Bridge on your left.

Continue past the Robin Thomas Reserve on your right.

Continue along the river and you will see The Queen’s Wharf Reserve to your left.

Also to the left, the HMAS Parramatta Memorial.

Turn right after the memorial into Purchase St. At the end of Purchase St turn left into Hassall St and you will see Hambledon Cottage on the opp side of the road.

Walk around and across Gregory Place to Alfred St looping around and turning right at Alice St. Along Alice St to the right is Our Lady of Lebanon.

Take the next right to the walkway that leads to Ruse Street, turning left into Ruse you will see Experimental Farm Cottage to your left.

You may now continue back to Hambledon cottage to the right, back onto Purchase street, retracing your steps to the rivercat terminal.
