Continue along Bridge St crossing over Pitt St with the ASX/Australian Stock Exchange and The Old Exchange Hotel in the vicinity. Continue along Bridge, with Headquarters of Burns Philip and The Metropolitan Hotel to your left.

Turn right into George St and the first left into Grosvenor St. Grovenor Place is to your right and St Patrick’s Church straight ahead near Harrington St.

Continue right into Harrington St. You will pass under the Cumberland Expressway. Follow the old worn steps (to your left) up to Cumberland Place. Susannah Place is in the vicinity (to your right) and the Australian Hotel as you turn right into Gloucester St is on your left at the intersection with Cumberland Street.

After walking a short way down Cumberland Street you need to take the subway that goes underneath the Harbour Bridge Stairs. Directly before you is observatory hill + park.

From the park you are able to see the Walsh Bay Wharves

The National Trust Centre is back in the other direction, around the hill from the observatory.

The Agar steps are on your left and a little row of terrace houses worth having a look at.

Turn right down Kent st (walking towards the water.) Little St Brigid’s Church School is to your right.

Continue along Argyle place (to the right) to the end where it intersects with Argyle St and you’ll see the Garrison Church.

Walk down Lower Fort Street to see The Hero of Waterloo on your left (nearest x-road Windmill St.)

Cross Windmill St to Ferry Lane

Coming out of The Paddock head along the lane to your left (halfway up Ferry Lane) take the steps on the right. On the corner is Private museum Clyde Bank, and opposite: The Harbour View Hotel. Head back into George Street (north, towards The Rocks) and you will pass Sydney’s last remaining cast iron urinal on your right. On the other side of the road is Dawes Point/Tarra.

There are a few more interesting spots in the Rocks well worth a look: The Rocks Visitor’s Centre is at the intersection of Argyle and Playfair Streets.
