St Stephen’s Cathedral

For those who art interested in art, architecture, or the origins of Catholicism in Brisbane, St Stephen’s Cathedral is the perfect place to visit.

Starting the tour

Start from Central Station.

Section 1:

As you exit the station via the main entrance, turn right onto Ann Street and immediately turn left onto Edward Street.

Edward Street is host to some of Australia’s most renowned designers, including menswear stores, high-end fashion and, for those who need pampering after shopping, day spas!

Section 2:

Continue down Edward Street for about five minutes. Turn left onto Elizabeth Street (just after after Queen Street), you will soon see the cathedral on the other side of the road.

Mass is held daily, there are also tours of the chapel on Sundays between 9-11am, weekdays are at 10.30 (following mass).

If you’re after memorabilia, there is a small gift shop located at 143 Edward Street, which sells postcards, guide books, choral CDs and more.
