‘Tops’ Replay Arcade

All the video games you could want, under one roof, right in the middle of Brisbane.

Starting the tour

Start from Central Station. Alternatively, if you’re already in the city, start from Queen Street Mall (see Directions 2).

Section 1:
Directions:

Turn right as you exit the station onto Ann Street. Immediately turn left onto Edward Street.

Stopover:

Edward Street is host to some of Australia’s most renowned designers, including menswear stores, high-end fashion and, for those who need pampering after shopping, day spas!

Section 2:
Directions:

At the bottom of the hill turn right onto Queen Street Mall.

Stopover:

. It was closed to traffic in 1982 and since then has become home to over 700 specialty stores and six centres – including Broadway on the Mall, MacArthur Central, Queens Plaza and The Myer Centre – all of which are home to highly sought-after fashion retailers; from high street stores to exclusive designers. Whether it’s banking, boutiques, cinema, entertainment, fashion, food, or shopping you’re after, look no further.

Section 3:
Directions:

Take the next left onto Albert Street (next to Hungry Jacks). Keep to the right hand side – cross the road at the traffic lights. The Replay Arcade is on your right, between Gloria Jeans and the Brewhouse, opposite the Royal Albert Hotel.

Stopover:

If one day you find you’re completely stumped at what to do with yourself, this is a good place to while away the hours and spend some loose change – the Replay Arcade, also known as Tops, is small and unglamourous but fun and friendly, and is ever popular with locals, backpackers and all game fanatics. Choices range from retro Sega fighting games, claw machines, the hugely addictive Stacker, Guitar Freaks, House of the Dead, racing games, an insanely hard ‘Beat Mania’ DJ game, plus many more, including my personal favourite; Dancing Stage!

There are also pool tables and an internet cafe on the top level.
